Angel Helpers at Church Conference

Well Angel Helpers continues to live on. I found this on www.FWUMC.org the churches website under Paster Jon's notes.

One should really be careful when he or she gives permission for the Conference to use their image - You never know where it will turn up. Lord help me, I’m a Conference poster boy!

The poster on the left was one of eight canvas posters created by the Conference for a display last month at Annual Conference. You may notice some familiar faces on the upper left hand side of the poster and a very familiar cross near them. The Belceto family is positioned just behind me and pictured in front of the Angel Helpers bulletin board we displayed this last winter.

These pictures were originally taken for the Conference magazine Channels, and were reused for this Conference display. The themes for the eight panels were Birth, Rebirth, Growth, and Change.

I don’t know if it was intention or coincidence that our pictures were put on one of the Rebirth posters, but I think it captures the sense of what I’ve been feeling as we have begun to live into the Ministry Plan.

Truly amazing how gods work carries on and on.

Flood Relief Drive Pictures

Getting going to load the 3rd of 4 vehicals it took to get everything to Doty.

Even a few weeks after you can see there is a lot to do.

Above is Alyssa, Sheriff of Doty and a Red Cross associate.

They had us unload on to a large tarp so they could sepperate it all to the correct location. This is just a portion of what Alyssa collected.

Flood Releif Arrives In Doty WA

People are truly amazing let me tell you ... The last few days have been a whirlwind around here. Alyssa will get a video up ASAP however we need to get the thanks out to EVERYONE for all the support and help.

The conclusion of the Flood Relief Drive that Alyssa created ended more successfully than she ever expected. With help from her church, local Fred Meyers, Albertsons, and neighbors here in Auburn and Federal Way, along with a surprise last minute call Friday from the Christmas House part of the Federal Way Food Bank we had to scramble for more help and room since the 2 mini vans were too small to carry the load down South to a town called Doty we set things up with. We got so overwhelmed that our inventory list got scratched and all we could do was box things up to get them ready. The totals will come in a later post but this amazing 9year old, our daughter Alyssa, really did put a ton of time and heart into this and in turn is happy to know kids still will have a Christmas even after losing everything in their homes.

In a matter of days and a couple of Saturdays hitting the neighborhood Alyssa stuffed one Minivan and 3 SUV's full of toys, clothes and food, over $500 for UMCOR in checks, $483.47 in cash, (which she used to purchase specific needed items.) Thanks to Auburn's Fred Meyers and Albertons support, and thanks to the awesome people who jumped in at the very last minute to help deliver the items.

Our hats go off to those who do this sort of thing on a daily basis, we met some truly wonderful people doing so much to help in this time of need for the people of this area. We were glad to be a small part of the relief efforts!

Great Start to the Flood Relief Drive

Well I will ad to her vid ... First off Thank YOU all for your huge support with this all. Alyssa is doing awesome spent from 10 AM till after 12 out in the freezing cold going door to door with her classmate here in the neighborhood. Came home with about $48 in cash and $10 in checks, plus a box of food. They were giggling and running from house to house either to keep warm or just having fun.

Saturday while with her grandparents at their church in Des Moins she brought home even more checks and some clothes. So now The numbers are picking up.

Sunday Alyssa did get up in front of both servises with paster Jon and share what she is doing too. This was a big step for her for as you can see even the web cam still bugs her.

So Alyssa is up to a little over $78 in cash, $90 in checks, food and some clothes along with a few more things she has not seen yet.

Thank YOU all again for your support and for helping her with her dream.

we still would like to see some businesses jump on borad with Angel helpers. So if you are one or you work or know of one who would love to be a part of Alyssa's Flood Relief Drive PLEASE do get a hold of her.

Lastly she has also made some contacts with a church in Centrailia and we will keep you all informed on when over the Christmas weekend she will be down in that flooded area personally handing out some of what she collected.

Flood Relief Drive Starts Today

Relief Drive Ready & Checks...

Hello everyone Alyssa did make a great video today to update you all before going to school but ... well dad lost it during some tech troubles sorry. Anyhow she will update you all after school instead.

Things are ready and as you can see she made a flyer and will share more with you all. The Flood Relief Drive will start today and run till December 20th 2007. After that Alyssa has places to bring the items and money collected from her drive and her parents are still workign on a way to have her deliver many of the items in person too.

As for cash donations with checks Alyssa spoke to a few different charity's such as Red Cross and her church FWUMC *Federal Way United Methodist Church* And decided on UMCOR *United Methodist Committy On Relief" She liked the sound that all 100% of the money raised and given to them would go to the victums since administration cost are covered by other budgets.

Alyssa would really like to see these kids and their familys harmed by the floods this week to still have a wonderful Christmas and get some great gifts.

Thank YOU all again for your support and for telling others of this amazing childs dream for the flood victums here in WA.

For now please tell others to keep an eye on this blog all will be updated as Alyssa gets and decides on the answers still to figure out.

Thanks EVERYONE for your support and help!!!

Kids sure can amaze YOU...

After My daughters 4th grade class viewed the local news yesterday, Alyssa my daughter was inspired to start the Angel Helpers Network beginning with a flood relief drive. Therefore this blog was created for her to keep everyone up to date on her current and future drives with her Angel Helpers Network.

The seen was and still is a lot like this...

Alyssa felt she needed to do something to help since she saw that many of the kids Christmas trees, pressents, houses etc were all under water. She felt it would ruen Christmas and feels they need her help.

How can you help?

She is gathering her friends and family to work with her. Along with her local churches, schools an such too .. she will get her blog post up here after school today. This is all Alyssa's idea I and others are simply helping her with her cause.

Thanks for your support!

Expect Miracles...
